committee should be invited to examine

and advise upon the arrangements to be

made for the resumption of the activities

of Hong Kong University, and of Institutions

affording Higher Educational facilities

in Malaya on the reoccupation of those

territories, and that this should be

regarded as part of the planning work

which is now being undertaken for the

restoration of public services etc. in

those territories on their reoccupation.

It is, however, clearly desirable that,

in considering the arrangements to be made

for these Institutions, regard should be

had to the longer range requirements of the se

territories in the field of Higher Education,

It is accordingly not proposed that the

Committee should be restricted to the

consideration of the problems which will

arise immediately on the reoccupation of

Hong Kong and Malaya, but that it should be

invited to submit any recommendations as it

free

may so desire as to the future of the se Institutions.
